CNN just cut into rebro of Larry King.
Conflicting reports about whether the embassy is on fire. Witnesses saying car bomb.

Could be that Americans aren't the only ones intent on commemorating 9/11. What time is it right now in Syria?

They just showed a pulled-over van with what looked like a bunch of propane tanks in the back wired to blow. Scare shit.

From the sound of it, these guys were amateurs.

Caught a report on this on BBC radio. They tossed a couple of grenades at the embassy, exchanged fire with the Syrian cops/soldiers standing guard outside and tried to detonate a car bomb that was, according to the BBC, a bunch of gas cans.

All but one of the terrorists was killed. one Syrian cop was killed as well. No embassy personnel were injured or involved in the gun battle.
