I can live with him going on Oompa. I would even watch him on Oompa.
But Jason. Buddy. I know you are reading this.
If you write a book? And it's selected as her book of the month from this? You'll be S-U-C-H an Albom...

Jason.....be sure to ask Oprah where Gayle is, that woman's in heat!

    Well...

    1) Will it be some fluff book about 'Gangstas you meet in the hereafter'?

    and

    2) Will there be any 'chronologically-forward' quote attribution?

If 1) and/or 2) are avoided, he might yet escape 'Albomness.' ;)

I really don't know Jason on any of his history on this board, but I saw him on the Today show this morning and I thought what he said was very interesting.

Knowing Jason, he's not angling to be "The New Voice." He's trying to make sure that Jesse and Al are no longer the voice.

    Cool, BC. :)

Quick history of Jason and the board:

Many on the board don't like Jason, for any number of reasons. A lot think he's an over-eager self-promoter, apparently.

Jason has had a running feud with Scoop Jackson, of ESPN. A feud Jason started, I believe. That feud has carried over to this board, through Scoop sympathizers, chief among them 'sprotsbruh.'

That's about it. Jason uses his own name here, so he's easy to find. I think, too, that a lot of people here don't like him because he's a 'heavy hitter' in terms of the industry.

It's the same reason - or one of them - you'll see people like myself taking shots at the Bill Simmonses and Mike Lupicas of the business.

Hope that helps. Thanks for the heads up on the Today appearance. :)

He is an over-eager self-promoter, but a good number of us like him anyway. I don't always agree with what he has to say, but he's always interesting.

I think that may be why he and JDV didn't hit it off immediately. Little too similar. ;)

It's all good, big man. You know that! :)

Not that I disagree with Whitlock being on the show ... but Posnanski once wrote that Oprah was reluctant to have Buck O'Neil on her show because he was a "sports figure."

Just a matter of time before Che is her guest.
