Sorry, but I'm kind of with the tennis club on this one. Thanks to Seles, Sharapova and Venus Williams, a whole generation of girls thinks they have to make noise to hit a good shot.

I don't mind hearing a woman grunt. Nine is a little young, though.

And you have the nerve to chastise me for jokes.

    For shame, Ace, for shame.

You are NOT good enough to work for the Plain Dealer.

I look forward to Cadet and the Sanctimony Crew's reaction to your pedophilia joke.

Only one chastisement per joke, Dexter.

If others jump in you can gang up, however.

Have played ball against a gal who screams bloody murder during an at-bat ... after the bat makes contact with the ball.

It isn't cool. It doesn't make you hit the ball farther. And it can be interpreted as verbal interference.

I'm calling verbal interference on Dexter.

Stick one in her ear and maybe she'll stop.

It doesn't have the same effect in slow pitch softball.

True. I thought we were talking about fastpitch.

    I don't know... I hear they're considering a youth girls tennis beat...
