If I'm the Rams or the Lions, I'd fire the coach I just hired to get Gruden.

Dungy makes his triumphant return to Tampa. :D

The Bucs faded down the stretch but the team is limited in playmakers and age is a big issue. This team will need a major renovation and I would assume the Glazers didn't want to spend in free agency and neither Gruden or Allen agreed.

It does seem strangely late. My money's on Shanahan to join the Bucs.

Why? The guy has never developed a QB--had Gannon in Oakland, Brad Johnson, Brian Griese, Jeff Garcia in Tampa. Chris Simms and Bruce Gradkowski flopped. In fact, he hasn't really developed talent at any of the other offensive skill positions, either. Why is this guy so highly regarded? Because he won a Super Bowl with Dungy's guys?

Rams have yet to hire ... merely announced list trimmed to four.

And if you were Gruden, would you TOUCH Detroit? (Sorry, Lions fans ... )

Tampa might be a job that would interest Cowher or Shanahan.

You don't think they'd go after Urban Meyer?

I thought Frazier got it. My bad...

They should give it a shot. But I don't see him taking it.

It's like Denver talking about Bob Stoops, these top college coaches see how good they have it and they don't want to be the next Spurrier.

Maybe because it's a house cleaning so late in the game? The way this went down makes me think they do already have someone in mind. Shanahan would make sense. Cowher, too, though doubtful. Meyer, I doubt, unless someone actually thinks the spread will work in the NFL (run and shoot, anyone?)
