their middle infield defense is a lot better now with gonzalez and brandon phillips -- they've had bad defense, but those two make a great double play combo

but yes, they still have adam dunn, which makes their defense not so good

and griffey -- broken hand and all -- is their best defensive centerfielder, which is why he's still in center

You really think Griffey is better defensively than Freel, the human highlight reel?

No, but he should be in centerfield when he's out there, sending Junior to right field.

I, too, like the Gonzalez acquisition. I can't remember the last time the Reds were solid defensively -- maybe 1999.

Oh, BYH, I wouldn't be so down on Arroyo. He looked pretty consistent this year. I think he'll win at least 13-15 games this season. Harang should be counted for that many, if not more.

griffey's fine for as long as they're in contention -- so, like the all-star break

but when griffey is healthy, he can play every day of the week, freel can't

True. Isn't Freel due to wreck his car again any day now?

As I told you all who were convinced that the Reds were going to make the playoffs this past year midseason: They aren't a serious team, and I'd be surprised if they finish .500, or top 3 in the division.

Well, he's had enough DUIs to earn a spot on the Bengals roster.
