Yeah, but check out the Big E. He respects the power of the preseason fleece thread. And he will soon be known as NostraFriedman.

I presume the high schools and colleges up north play with CFL-style rules?

    Oh lord, not again:

Well, the good thing is that Moncton looks like the area that will get a franchise, if one is awarded.

Anyone go to the "Down East Kitchen Party"?

Okay, another thing we should not forget in the excitement of the game.

After 55 years, the relationship between CBC and the CFL finishes. Can someone explain to me why this relationship has to end? It seems stupid! CBC is the only place I have ever watched the Grey Cup. I just can't envision watching it on another broadcaster.

Shout out to everyone at CBC for the wonderful years of coverage. Thanks for the memories.

I hope the panel, host, reporters, camerapeople and production team start crying. Especially the panel...I hope we get to see them embrace in all their sadness. Nothing like a bunch of men getting emotional during a football game. That would be must see tv....the ratings would skyrocket with that raw emotion.

Maybe Benefield will do a sound bite of them hugging.... ;D ;D ;D

I voted online for Joseph and he won for the West in the QB category.

Lions Cameron Wake was chosen Warrior of the Year.

    Anyone surprised by the selection?

Now here's a Grey Cup story that will make the most cynical tear up:

Ths guy has been to 61 Grey Cups--first one he took his then girlfriend to in 1943.

He's taking her again to this year's

Two years ago, George told his family and his unofficial adopted son Randy White about his favourite Grey Cup date.

Randy tracked down a widowed Jean Gemuendt, formerly Wood, in North Carolina and passed along her phone number to George.

George phoned the number and worked his magic for a second time.

They stayed in touch. George even went for a week-long visit and sent her flowers on her birthday.

Today he's taking Jean to her second Grey Cup game. Yesterday she was too shy to give an interview, and left the talking to George.

That picture of Dan Kepley's fingers in the pregame feature was gruesome.

Makes Chuck Bednarik's hand look like he should be modeling wrist-watches.

Yeah, those things are NOT supposed to do that.

does the name Cliff Claven mean anything to you, JR?

    Because there's a real resemblance.

That, or the chess-club geek who succumbs to verbal diarrhea when the popular kid (in this, American SportsJournalists.comers) pay attention

The feature on the history of the CFL on the CBC was very well done.

CBC's departure from CFL coverage, unfortunately, means the end of the substance- and information-filled network pro football pregame show.

That's not really the Barenaked Ladies doing the national anthem, right?
