Green Bay Packers

Green Bay native here ... I'll lend my suggestions:

    Saturday night:

I would suggest Washington Street in downtown Green Bay along the river if you want to hang out with a younger crowd. Lined with 10-15 bars and clubs. Also, Titletown Brewing Co. is right across the river ... it's an old train depot converted into a microbrewery/restuarant/bar. Pretty cool place. Looking to gamble? Oneida Casino is near the airport and probably a 10 minute drive from downtown.

If you feel ambitious, you could also head down to the College Ave. bar district in Appleton ... then on the way back, stop off for a lapper or two at Beansnappers.

Not that I've ever done that.

    Tailgating:

Packers fans are among the friendliest in the country. Since you don't appear to be tailgating, you might be better off hitting the bars nearby for pregame. There are plenty of options east and west of the stadium ... I suggest the eastside, in particular The Bar or Stadium View. Anduzzi's is right there, too, but I find it hard to move around in that place. Plenty of room indoors plus tents outdoors. Like leo said, there might be some tailgaters who welcome you in for a small donation, but you might not want to waste time hunting around for one.

Curly's Pub inside Lambeau is nice too, so you may want to enter the stadium early or stay late after the game to check that out as well as the rest of the Atrium. Try to get to see the Packers Hall of Fame too ... not sure about when they are open though.

    Parking:

I usually find a good spot on the street east of the stadium off Holmgren Way if I arrive early enough. Otherwise, you can find plenty of $5 and $10 lots off Holmgren Way that are an easy walk to the bars and the stadium.

    Have fun.

PM me if you would like any more info or suggestions on where to eat.

Oh and good morning Rosie! Hope this day finds you well.

It brings me such joy to realize my 3,000th post was spent to ridicule a Viqueens fan!! ;D :D

Was waiting for that. Thank you, sir.

Hey rosie: you're grounded, much like Tice and Co. were that playoff year.

Gutter, you know the routine! Go to your room!

And fmrsped, you can't ground me, but you can stay in your room until the season is over.

Rotten Slacker Backers, just they wait, their team is due for a major butt-kicking at the hands of the Patriots this Sunday!

Why did someone put Packers highlights to the gayest song ever used for a football highlights video?

I felt like I was in an 80s movie listening to that. It's probably trendy in northern Wisconsin, where bangs, scrunchies and Zubaz will never die.

There's a certain zen about Packer fans - they just seem cool, perhaps a Midwestern ability to roll with the punches. The last Patriots game I went to, Green Bay cleaned our clocks in Foxboro, but I saw not a single Packer fan leaving the stadium soiled by beer or vomit in any way (wouldn't happen at a Jets or Dolphins game, that's for sure).

I was wondering the same thing. I was going to send the link to a Viking fan I know, but knew I would get that 'gay porn music' comment thrown right back at me.

Come on, Rosie! You know you only feel that way because you're a Vikings fan and hate everything green and gold... :)

By the way, I'm already in my room, so there!

To disagree with Rosie again, and Gutter could probably back me up, I'm with Terrier. ... I've been a Pack fan since '90, and whenever I tell people who my allegiance is with, it's either compliments or somethnig to the effect of liking the franchise, the way they do things, etc.

You never heard shit like you do with Browns fans treating opposing fans poorly, etc. I think the group as a whole respects teh game and the team's place in it, and acts accordingly, even when the franchise is approaching the so-called shitter.
