    I think it's hands down Jim Thorpe.

    Followed by Carl Lewis and then Phelps.

    No Greg Louganis on the list?

    We tossed this around a couple of days ago on another thread. Impossible comparison. Different eras, different sports. Some sports offer the chance for multiple medals, while others don't. And don't even start with team sports vs. individual sports.

    You can make arguments for plenty of others. Just on the list above, I would put Jenny Thompson, Natalie Coughlin and others ahead of Torres and Blair.

    Put Zeus back in the Olympics. He is the reason for the season. Stop the war on the Olympics!

    I looked at Jenny Thompson, but the majority of her medals were won in relay, not individual, events.
