    Re: Secretariat, I have a hard time giving a horse who's prime is one year the title of best to ever wear a certain number. Hell of a year, but I have difficulty putting it on that level over some humans who performed at an elite/hall of fame level for a career.

    Three hockey players wearing No. 9 and both Sharpe brothers for 84 are both cop-outs. Not that Sterling Sharpe needs to be on the list, anyway.

    My thoughts, too, but it's not my list. I'm on the fence about Secretariat. The point raised earlier is well-taken, but as someone who's old enough to have seen him race, he was just such an epic race horse, that's hard to argue against him.
