    Poca High School in West Virginia ... nickname is Dots. The Poca Dots. No, I'm not kidding.

    Another one I thought of isn't actually a real team, but I always thought it was hilarious. In the back of USA Today Sports Weekly, years ago, there used to be these ads for fictional minor league baseball caps. I guess the deal was the company that made these picked towns with unique sounding names and made up a nickname that went with it. And the one that sticks in my mind is the Shamokin Dopes of Shamokin, Pa. The cap had a picture of a guy all goggley-eyed from -- wait for it -- smokin dope. Low humor, obviously, but I still laughed out loud every time I saw that ad.
