    To answer the intended question, Miguel Cabrera will take Miguel Cabrera's place as greatest active player, until Mike Trout has enough of a body of work to take over.

    If you can ignore PEDs, Bonds. If you can't - and this is where I fall - I'd go with Aaron then Mays.

    Greatest active player (I'd define this category as the current player with the best overall career) - Pujols, although I'm willing to stipulate on the PED point. Lot of suspicions but little known evidence. Not near as much smoke around him as with Bonds.

    Best player in the game (I'd define this one as the current player with the most complete skill set with a smaller sample size) - Mike Trout. Miggy is 1A to me.

    If you're going to include Bonds on your top 5 list (and I would), then Clemens better be there as well.
