Or Forest Gump a football movie since Gump played at Alabama.

Where does The Blind Side fit? Book itself makes an astute argument for how important the left tackle is.

Jerry Maguire does have extended scenes that take place at the NFL draft, NFL training camp and during a Monday Night Football game. But yeah, it's not really a football movie.

Jerry Maguire is more relevant to modern sports than any other movie on any of these lists. It may not be about football, but it's about the sports industry.

If Jerry Maguire, School Ties and Flash Gordon count, how about Silver Linings Playbook?

The most striking and realistic-feeling moments in any of these are the locker room bits in North Dallas Forty. I'm sure the fact there were so many players and or ex-players in the cast contributed to that. But it was silly to cast Mac Davis as a pro quarterback.

My favorite. (Lea Thompson doesn't hurt, admittedly)

in terms of all-sports 'all the right moves' and 'vision quest' off great looks at competitive sports on the h.s. level. not a coincidence that the respective female leads, lea thompson and linda forentino, are unspeakably hot in a real-girl way. any teenaged boy's wet-dream ideals. fiorentino's voice alone should x-rated. yowza!

Why? Mac Davis did a fine job in that role.
He did Don Meredith almost as well as Don Meredith.

And (in Vision Quest), Madonna still in her Boy Toy stage.
