So I go out to the mailbox yesterday, and therein was a first class envelope from none other than Moddy.

I spent the rest of the night enjoying said envelope's contents — the best Christmas music mix CD ever. We're talking polka, punk, old school crooning and instrumental numbers wrapped up into one. There's even some Beach Boys and one rather subtle song that has to do with wanting a good pipe-layin' for Christmas, if my ears are working properly.

Thanks, Moddy! It's obvious you don't hold me responsible for jinxing that Nats no-hitter back on Labor Day. Just remember: Football_Bat was in on it, too.

If it didn't have the "Santa and his old lady" bit by Cheech and Chong, it's incomplete. And Father Christmas by the Kinks.

I know it's got Bruce's "Santa Claus is Coming to Town" on it.

    Right?

Something I never knew: There's an entire cult of people who annually put together holiday mix tapes/CDs and spend the entire year looking for obscure Christmas music:

Does this mix contain Snoop Doggy Dogg's "Santa Clause Goes Straight To The Ghetto" off the DeathRow Christmas compilation released in '96?

that immortal CD contains White Christmas by Guess, Frosty The Snowman by 6 Feet Deep, O Holy Night by B.G.O.T.I., Be Thankful by Nate Dogg and I Wish by Tha Dogg Pound.

Does it include Twisted Sister's "O Come All Ye Faithful?"

Does it include "Snoopy vs. The Red Baron, part LXXVIII (a.k.a. Snoopy's Christmas)" by The Royal Guardsmen?

If there's not a rare version of Chuck D and Flavor Flav doing White Christmas, then this thread is useless.

At my parents' house, it's nothing but The Temptations Christmas over and over.

It has to have at least 2-3 tracks from the Phil Spector Christmas album.

It also has to have a track from Fats Domino's Christmas album.

It has to have Bob & Doug McKenzie's "12 Days of Christmas" on it.

Plus it has to have the above mentioned tracks by Bruce, the Kinks, Cheech & Chong, Royal Kingsmen..
