    Great article. One thing they didn't mention as helping to build the myth was that stupid movie about a kid who broke his arm and then had big-league velocity when it didn't heal right. I know that's a fantasy story line, but I can't help but draw the comparison to what these people seem to think will happen if the kid gets surgery.

    I've heard about this a couple times in the last few months, but Cole Hamels is in SI this week talking about how his changeup changed for the better after he broke his humerous in HS.

    I love people. Love 'em.

    How about not getting your kid operated on. Have him take a year off and do the excercises that are a part of rehab and he'll probably gain a mph or two. Fucking idiots.
