Great Spring Training stories. Are there any?

    Read 'Seasons in Hell' by Mike Shropshire. It's a look back at his years covering the Rangers during the Billy Martin-Whitey Herzog days. The spring training stuff is pretty funny. But so is the rest of the book. His chapter on the infamous Dime Beer Night in Cleveland is priceless.

    Do yourselves a favor and read the Boston Globe story linked above.
    Not exactly a spring training story, but a great read with phenomenal storytelling.

  5. I seem to recall a ripping yarn involvng Wade Boggs, Margo Adams and baked chicken (Not the old SportsJournalists.com term!).
