Disneyland Grad Night, June of 1983. Someone at the House O' Mouse got the idea to book Berlin to play Grad Night.

Berlin is playing out on Tom Sawyer's Island on the stage facing the Haunted Mansion. And Terri Nunn is bombed off her very cute ass. What limited bits of this that I saw involved Nunn flouncing around the stage, babbling like Paula Abdul on too many meds and nearly pulling a header into the water.

I'm thinking that someone at the House O' Mouse wasn't booking acts very much longer after this.

"Long Cool Woman . . " got me thinking about these:

    "Hold Your Head Up," Argent
    and
"Stuck in the Middle With You," Stealers Wheel
. . . both hits in their day, but rarely heard any more

    Some others:
"On the Road," Flash and the Pan
    "Rockit," Herbie Hancock
"My Number Two," Joe Jackson (live)
    "Lake Marie," John Prine (live)
"In the Lap of the Gods," Alan Parsons Project
"All Around the World (Myth of Fingerprints)," Paul Simon
    "Love Spreads," Stone Roses
"Everybody Out of the Water," Wallflowers
"Dusty Turnaround," Lizzie West (several versions of this . . . I can't track down the one XM plays, but the others are good, too)
    "Sunflowers in Your Room," Everclear
    "Teenage Nervous Breakdown," Little Feat
    "Godwhacker," Steely Dan
    "Bombs Away," The Police
"Take Me in Your Arms," Doobie Brothers (never underrated, but now forgotten)
    "Silver Thunderbird," Mark Cohn

Here, here for "Bombs Away", Zaphod

And, to bring the occasional Billy Joel song back to the forefront, I'm a big fan of "Honesty" and "A Matter of Trust"

Cape, I'm pretty sure I've mentioned this before on here. But you MUST get a copy of Colin Hay's acoustic version of "Overkill." It's one of the best performances I've ever heard. Back when I was burning mix CDs, this song was making its way onto about half of them.

Coming Into Los Angeles - great song.

When Geraldo had his first show on ABC he used Steve Goodman's song The City of New Orleans. Love that song. Pisses me off that every time I hear it Geraldo comes to mind.
