I think a lot of people on this board are going way too far and using a brush far too wide when they paint the gun-owning community as that of a collective bunch of beer-gutted, buck-toothed, sixth-grade-educationed dolts whose sole dream in life is to take a Beretta shotgun and go shoot up a mall somewhere.
    Jeebus.

Are you trying to imply that they aren't?

I think he's trying to say the vast majority of us aren't, yes.

    Baby's got a gun
    Baby's got a gun
    His whole world's come undone
From lookin' straight at the sun
    What did his daddy do?
What did he put you through?
They said when Baby was arrested
they found him underneath a train
But man, he had it comin' Now that Baby's got a gun
he ain't never gonna be the same.

And the NRA's "shall issue" laws come home to roost.

Convicted felon? Adjudicated mentally ill? Still want a gun?

Apply in your kid's name. The sheriff might well know what you are doing, but he's obligated to hand out the permit unless he can prove it.

    Exactly.
I have my firearms, and I have them for one purpose. I like to hunt (ducks, specifically, not that anyone cares). I know how to use them. I know their effective ranges. Would I use them in self defense? Certainly. But that is not their intended use.
I own firearms, but because I do that does not ingrain in me a desire to go shoot up malls.
    Double Jeebus.
And, I'm not going to get into a pissing match with anyone. I won't change your opinion, and you won't change mine. I just want to get to 2.0 posts per day. :)

Now I'll have that song in my head the rest of the day. Not that that's a bad thing ...
