Granderson to fund UIC baseball stadium

    Mounds are always dirt, even on fields that are completely synthetic. Much easier to manicure and if it's turf the footfall spot gets worn down quickly.

    Actually, that's an older picture. The mound is now turf. And there's just no maintenance at all, when the turf wears out, replace it.

    The field is going to be right there, they are just going to replace the bleachers with stadium style seating...
     
  6. Concordia College in Moorhead has a turf mound on a dedicated baseball field. First time I read about turf replacing dirt on mounds.
