And the scene where he kicks the behemoth Swede's ass was tremendous.

SWEDE: I'm gonna rip your head off and shit down your neck.

VAN PEEBLES, ET AL: Swede! Swede! Swede!

Swede throws one would-be knockout punch, Gunny catches his fist, all but crushes it -- "Swede!" chants quickly peter out -- twists Swede's arm behind his back & damn nearly tears it right off, forces him to his knees, tells him to stick his chin up... higher..so Swede can see the ass-kicking he's about to take...and then, wham, one trademark Clint southpaw punch and the Swede is down.

Beauty. Simply cannot wait to see Gran Torino.

Edit: As you prob know, Swede (Peter Koch) was a Bengals first round draft pick (16th overall), 1984, DE out of Maryland. Shockingly, this being the Bengals and all, he didn't pan out.

Nah, TP, it's actually a really good movie. I'd definitely recommend it.

i simply don't think i could watch it with a straight face. the whole time i'd be sitting there wondering why someone simply doesn't sneak up behind him, scream BOOO, and watch CE fall over clutching at his chest.

Took the screenwriter a while to get to this point

The Changeling sucked. Among the worst movies I've ever seen in a theater.

Changeling had a bunch of one-dimensional performances and had a cartoon version of the institutional corruption limned in LA Confidential. Jon Lovitz was just as compelling as anyone else

Weird, I don't see Eastwood anywhere in here:

This movie was written for Eastwood. Christ, what a movie.

    This is Shawshank Redemption good.

Way overacted by several -- Eastwood included.

He's not Harry Callahan anymore. And the actors in the family next door were just awful.

I'll agree with you about the family next door. The girl whom Eastwood got close with wasn't too bad, though.
