    Considering how since 1976 governors (Carter, Reagan, Clinton, Bush) have been more "electable" than Senators (none) and his background in national and international affairs, he might have a shot.

    I was hoping Bill would run. This should be good.

    Quite a varied field with a lot of early name recognition. Republicans might need to turn to one of their more famous candidates (former New York mayors for $200) to counter.

    Now I don't know who to vote for -- Richardson or Obama?

    This makes my vote easier. Richardson was my rep when I lived in New Mexico. Best rep I ever had; he took good care of a district located in the westernmost notch of the Bible Belt that votes overwhelming Republican.

    But Edit, the Republicans will probably counter with "Current Arizona Senators Who Are Running Hard Right" for $400.

    For what it's worth, UVA poli sci guy Larry Sabato says Richardson has the best resume of anyone out there, and he's amazed it's not generating more hype.

    As long as one -- or, gasp, both :) -- of these guys is on the ticket in November '08, they've got my vote.

    Richardson's resume is, indeed, top-fucking-notch. Best resume of anyone in the race.

    yup, now he just has to not fuck it up. it's a three-way race between richardson, obama and clinton. i think obama fades a year from now once the rock star phenomenon dissipates.

    that whole MLB draft thing will be brought up again but it won't sink him

    Democrats have the chance to elect:

    * The first female president
    * The first black president
    * The first Hispanic president
    * The first Mormon president (Romney)

    All of which will make it just that much more underwhelming when a white male is elected.
