Duckworth's perceived handicap is the result of risking (and almost losing) her life in military service. Christie's is the result of 10,000 extra trips through the drive-through lane for triple cheeseburgers.

I'm not certain that it was a deliberate insult. It might have just been a clueless use of a rather common expression.

The optics though, my God. Does no one pay any attention to what's going out? It just invites someone to kick them in the teeth over it.

Part of overthrowing political correctness is that you quit giving proven assholes the benefit of the doubt on shit like this.

We don't have time for basic human decency anymore. Haven't you heard?

It's politics, so it wouldn't be surprising if it was intentionally nasty, but it also seems a lot like the ESPN "Chink in the Armor" Jeremy Lin headline, which I believe was an accident.

I grew up in the same town as Christie. He spent too much time at Bonvini's, Nero's, Cohen's Knishes, Heritage Diner, Eppes Essen, Tabatchnicks.

There was also a Jack in the Box right near the High School

One person's political correcteness is everyone else's good manners.
