    That wastes gas.

And is bad for the environment. :D

Seriously though, Google Earth was awesome. Street View is even better.

I CAN'T DRIVE AROUND MY OLD NEIGHBORHOOD IN TEXAS!

It's interesting to me to be able to view areas I can't otherwise look at.

Plus! My car is on there in front of my house!

    Oh shit ...

But on street level? What do you get out of looking at a subdivision in Lexington, KY?

I REALLY don't get it. And I'm OK with that.

Friend used it to look at a house some five hours away he was thinking about buying.

I guess I'd just look at photos from the realtor.

    Silly me.

But he wanted to see the rest of the neighborhood, too.

I saw that a bunch of hillbillies live in the house I lived in 25 years ago in Texas.

I saw that a house I lived in at Ball State is boarded up ... it should have been when I was living there.

I saw that another Muncie neighborhood I lived in actually looked a bit cleaned up ... no crackheads and street vagrants roaming about.

It's interesting if you're into that kind of thing. Some aren't. Whatever.

Ijag, say there's a guy you want to know more about, he lives in another city....you can see where he lives, what the neighborhood is like, if he's the kind of person who leaves the Halloween stuff up year round, that sort of thing.

Actually, I use it all the time when i'm going somewhere new, not sure where it is, so I know what i'm looking for.

Although it feels like an massive invasion of privacy to know anyone can see where you live.

    RIP Google deer.
