The lobbying din for the Supe on President's Day is already deafening . . . largely from the WWL.

The NFL can't leave well enough alone until it finds a way to kill the golden goose.
These fuckers are guaranteed more profit that any owners in sports and they just get more greedy.

    16 games-32 teams

Does 17-18 games equal 34 or 36 teams?

The Super Bowl on President Day's Sunday night would be directly opposite the Daytona 500.

I can't imagine FOX would be too thrilled.
I can't imagine either sports entity would want to splinter its target audience.

Think about all the shitty football you get in Week 15 and 16 and now you want 17 and 18. The preseason sucks but 18 games imo is to many

Agreed. Just cut the two preseason games and be done with it. Of course, the NFL will never do that because each of the 32 owners would lose one home game and all the revenue that comes with it.

The Daytona 500 will run and hide if need be. Nobody anywhere is going to take on the Super Bowl.

Players already get paid for 20 weeks, don't they (16 regular season and 4 exhibitions)?

The big loser in this will be the NCAA.

With the middle of the NBA and NHL seasons in the background, college basketball rises to the front after the Super Bowl. Push the Super Bowl into the end of February and you leave college hoops in its own little closet of the conference and NCAA tournaments.

Another reason why I would hope they tack the extra weeks on at the beginning of the season.

Unless this idea is coupled with the building of domed stadiums in every city north of the Mason-Dixon line, the extra games would have to be at the start of the season. Playoff games in the last week of January-first week of February are major contenders to get blizzarded out in a number of NFL locations, including the one around here.

    It's perfect at 16 games.

No need to lengthen the regular season, but chop two weeks off preseason.
