I don't know much about NASCAR, but everywhere I read, someone named Johnson won yesterday's race.

No, that was some high school boy putting his johnson in his teacher.

That's not even his Sprint Cup car. WTF? Did they confuse the Nationwide race, which he did win, with the Sprint Cup race?

    Fail. Total fail. Abject fail.

Wonder if the same person did this and the last one we laughed at?

That's a tease for the Nationwide race, which Kyle Busch did win.

Why it would be on Long Beach's cover today is anyone's guess.

Maybe Busch went up to Jimmie Johnson after the race and took the checkered flag right out of his hands and ran off!

My wife told me a couple weeks ago that the PT headline read:

    LIGHTNING BLOT

I still can't believe she didn't save that one for me - it went out with the recycling before she told me about it.

He did take the checkered flag. In that car. So what's the problem??

    Ohhhhhhh **** it's a day late!

This is the thread where we guess, my friend.

My guess: Whoever did the front-page tease is an idiot, knows nothing about NASCAR (and possibly sports in general), was told that Sports' main story would be NASCAR and put it together early "to save some work later."

And if it's the same person who did that last one we talked about, that person should probably not be in charge of that area any longer.

Possibility B: The LBPT's deadlines are frighteningly early.

Just from that pic, the P-T front, sadly, looks like it's been all splotch'ized. Doesn't look very good.

Either way, it shouldn't have mattered. That kind of tease would take me about 10-15 minutes, including cutout.

Possibility B should be the leader in the clubhouse.

That said, Dickens is right. Any front-page designer worth their salt should see that as child's play.
