    Better at those two things than projecting the Final Four, that's certain.

    And, yes, I like what the guy does, very much.

    Reagan did not have an "unpopular first couple of years."

    The verrrrrrry conveeeeeeeeeeeeeeeenient (not to mention treasonous) release of the hostages on Inauguration Day gave him a big boost, and then getting shot -- and not dying -- a couple months later elevated him to near-deity status.

    And also provided him with a public excuse to take most of the next six months off. The concept of the presidency as an old man's hobby took hold.

    An old man's -- or a young drunk's.

    Of course, the GOP nominates folks under 60 at the top of the ticket about as often as El Slobbo is anything other than self-serving.
