Didn't a former longtime SoCal SE appear on the show a while back? And I think a sportswriter won on "Win Ben Stein's Money" as well.

Yes. Paul Oberjuerge (longtime SB Sun editor and now columnist) appeared on Jeopardy, but I couldn't tell you the year or how well he did. I'm thinking early '90s. Birdscribe or Gold might know better than I would.

Initial air date? Sounds like we might have multiple appearances. Someone needs to break this story wide open.

Dumb question, but how will we know Birdscribe from the other contestants?

Maybe he should just say "whatever" for each question.

I'll take "Ftards" for $1,000, Alex. Whatever".

Congrats, Bird. I've got the date on my calendar.

When Alex says "I see your hobbies are posting on SportsJournalists.com..." you'll know...

Or, when Alex ask what he does for a living, Birdscribe says, "I cover girls cheerleading competitions for the Podunk Express"

Well, he wasn't on the geekiest and most perversely entertaining website I have seen in a while:

    You missed it apparently.

At what point, if any, does the show pick up your expenses to get out there if you are skilled enough to get a chance to say "What is a quince?"

Hope you kicked ass, Birdscribe. My godmother was on a few years ago, was in the lead until final jeopardy. Lost.
