I'm just lucky I work at a paper that will be rolling out a decent redesign sometime next year.

I thought the same thing. Why don't you just buy a couple of adjustable rate mortgages off some unemployed folks while you're at it? They'll give them to you for a dollar.

McClatchy closed at $1.53 today. That elicited a "Good Lord" from me. I remember the heady days of a few months ago when it was trading at, gosh, 3 times that.

And this, my friends, is why internet advertising will never make nearly as much money as print:

People can simply BLOCK ADS. You can't do that in a paper.

Yes. All MG papers have that Web design. In my case, it's 100-percent improvement over what we had. When they rolled us out, that continuous news desk had photos instead of the white. I liked that better.

For us, we can (finally) have video. Decent blogs. And instant updating (the last system had major lag). We're using every element it has to our advantage. (With what equipment they'll give us.) It's fun for us, finally.

    Make fun all you want.

I can buy like 8000 shares of JRC with what's in my pocket?

Yes, but why would you throw your money away like that? Spend it on something nice for the significant other ... the return on investment would be much more significant :)

I said "something nice," not "something only a 'Bama redneck would think is 'nice'" ... :)
