Had never seen the silk blue dodgers uniforms before, but god they were ugly.

also, no mention of the late 1970s pirates mix and match.

And the astros stripe uniforms were plain ugly.

The Mets had some pretty horrid ones too, usually the blue script on black.

Author would have freaked a few years ago when the O's played at San Francisco. Baltimore wore black tops with orange lettering, the Giants orange tops with black lettering.

It's the minors, but I love the Reading Phillies' Crazy Hot Dog Vendor unis:

They should've had James Corden model them all.

The Reading people have been some of the most innovative in the minors for some time. The Crazy Hot Dog Vendor himself is quite the trip.

I would refuse to play for the D-Backs for fashion reasons.

This was a joke right? No other way the Dodgers' 70s porn pajamas could be listed as "good."

There was a very good hardback book on uniforms through the ages, and I gave it as a gift to someone in the late 1990s, so it is a bit dated at this point.

Will see if I can figure out what the title was.

If you think the Cards' blue uniforms were better than the Phils' you are not qualified to write this opinion piece.

I saw that article a couple weeks ago (linked from the UniWatch blog) and it's absolute crap. It's bad enough she praises those god-awful White Sox 1890s throwbacks, and thinks the Phillies powder blue is 'bad' and the Cardinals powder blue is 'good' when they're pretty much on par with each other. That's opinion, so, whatever. But then on every reference, she refers to the Chicago AL team as the 'White Socks' and praises the Orioles for their use of light blue on the road uniforms, when the Orioles have never worn light blue, which exposes the fact she doesn't know much of anything on her subject matter.

I think this is what you're looking for, Vombatus. I got this when it came out and it's sitting in storage somewhere.

Great reference, although it stops at 1993 and they never came out with updated versions. However, the drawings from that book are used in this section of the Hall of Fame website: National Baseball Hall of Fame - Dressed to the Nines - Uniform Database.
