Canada moved up 36 places to 56, based on FIFA's last points standing update. That's better than being down in the eighties for a long time, and I mean long.

Did Canada get hosed? No doubt about it. Welcome to the club, boys. ARs in this neck of the woods routinely get such calls wrong, and their compatriots in the center aren't much better. Thursday was just one of those exceedingly rare occasions where a blown call went in favor of the US.

Perhaps it's all just a case of instant karmic payback. Onstad and DeRosario should have (and would have, had this been a World Cup qualifier on the road) been sent off. The Bocanegra challenge on DeGuzman is debatable -- clearly a bookable offense, but it wasn't DOGSO and it's hard to divine SFP.
