Going to Vegas. Suggestions?

Well, just made my reservations to go Las Vegas for my vacation week in July. I was there a couple years ago with my Dad, and that was the first time I was there since I was a kid.

This is my first time taking the trip solo and I'll be spending most of the time at or near the strip (two different hotels) and getting acquainted with what it has to offer.

I'm looking for suggestions on stuff to do outside the casinos, and even outside the strip, since I've got three whole days. I'll be doing some gambling, obviously, but want to pace myself so I don't end up blowing my budget in a day and a half. I'm also planning to take in a 51s game since their in town that week and then check out the Fremont Street Experience.

If anyone who has ideas on stuff to do/see in the area, I'd love to hear them. If it's something that's away from the strip that would be cool. I'm going to do a little driving around the day I switch hotels, since check-in time won't be until the afternoon.

Oh, and, umm, any recommendations on strip clubs would be appreciated also. Thanks.

P.S. Yes, I know it's going to be scorching in July. I'll deal with it.

All the strip clubs are closed in July. Didn't you know that?

I've been to Vegas in July. It's not that bad. That line about dry heat is true. Once I left when it was 115 in Vegas. I stepped off the plane back in the South and it was 92 with 80 percent humidity. I was ready to head back to the 115. Drink plenty of water during the day, you'll be fine.

Drive to Red Rock Canyon or Mount Charleston. Go take the damn dam tour, but don't ask where the bait shop is located.

Lounge by the pool. Visit the pools at some other hotels like the Rio, Moorea Beach Club at Mandalay Bay or Caeser's.

Why are you staying at two different hotels during your trip?

(And avoid Scores in favor of Spearmint Rhino.)

$5 craps tables. My buddies and I spent all night around the tables over March Madness.

Got comped for two nights at Harrah's, and then found a good deal at Stratosphere, so I decided to take both up on their offers.

You've only got three days. Do not waste valuable time with activities that don't involve drinking and gambling.
If you want to go to the coolest bar in town, hit the Double Down Saloon.

If you have dinner at Piero's, might run into Tark, but you will certainly have a good Osso Bucco.

And for entertainment, try Sapphire club. Or so I've heard.
