Chef, the fictional account of what she may have been thinking at the time didn't make you take pity on her? Heartless bastard! :)

Or when the search is off, too; same picture. And boy is she a beaut.

Well, at least she didn't say, "No problem". That deserves tasering.

When I say "Thank you", the correct response is "You're welcome".

    I believe it without hesitation.

Ah, come on, OOP. I'm not even saying Chef should take pity on the girl. I'm just saying people should sometimes try to understand what's going on on the other side of the counter, so to speak.

Starting thread wishing you had unleashed a tourette's syndrome tirade because a girl said "Yup" instead of "You're welcome" is a little ridiculous. Why let something as trivial as that ruin your day?

I've never understood the problem people have with "No problem..."

I used to have a boss who would have a coronary any time someone would say it.

    As well you should.
Not because she said "yup".....it was her attitude.

I don't give two squirts of shit if I ordered 401 cheeseburger and left her a 50 dollar tip, or if I got a fuckin dilly bar and a small cone.

I asked my wife if she thought it was ironic that someone who was buying a chocolate-covered wad of saturated fat on a stick might make fun of the physical condition of the person selling it to him.

She said, "No, I think it would be more accurate to call it 'hypocritical'."

    Language majors piss me off.

She is so not getting a Mother's Day present.

I agree wholeheartedly. I can still remember when I worked as a computer lab assistant at a local college. The lab manager read off a letter in which the writer praised three of us for exemplary service. Later on, she announced that three lab assistants received "spot cash awards" of $25 from the college for going beyond the call of duty.

I was the only one who got mentioned in the letter AND the spot cash award that day. It didn't teach me how to be a better employee, but it made me feel good that I was being recognized for trying to do my job the right way.
