I have my first substitute teaching gig in roughly seven hours. This should be interesting.

    Stay cool.

    Stay consistent.

    Don't raise your voice.

    What grade level or subject?

Do we need to alert poindexter?

  4. Remember, it's like prison. The first day, you have to kick someone's ass.

You can go from firm and strict to easy going. You can't go the other way.

BTW, good for you. Good subs are hard to find.

    So how did it go?

  8. I know I am late to the advice party, but I just finished my first semester of teaching (one class about print design at the local university). My friend's advice to me on my first day: Whip out your dick and tell them that is where their mouths are going to be all semester.

I have no idea what level you are teaching at, so hopefully that isn't awkwardly offensive due to the grade. Needless to say, I did not follow his advice ... Although there are some hotties in my class.
