    I don't normally do this but feel I must here. This has saddened me, brought me to tears. David hasn't posted much in years, has been out of the business. He's one of the best people I've ever met, here or anywhere.

    When a bunch of people from SJ showed up in Seattle in June, 2008, he had all of us to his house site unseen and threw one hell of a party.

    When my dog died, I heard from him right away.

    When another poster's young daughter was in the hospital near him, he went to sit with her.

    Just a month ago, he sent my daughter a book, and a nice note, as part of one of those Facebook gift exchanges.

    Give if you can. If ever anyone was worth, this is it.

    Holy shit. I'm generally a kind of cold-hearted bastard, but this hurts. Yes, Dave welcomed us to his home (and man cave!) sight unseen, and he made some of the best bacon and cheese infused burgers I've ever had.

    I'm donating now.

    Such sad news. He named my younger dog, Go Go Gadget, so I have a happy reminder of him every day.
