I'll accept a check for my work as a setup man.

Yet no 1,000-yard rusher averaged even five catches a game this season. Marshall Faulk isn't a prototype as much as an ideal. Teams need two backs to get Faulk's production.

Running backs are at the stage where starting pitchers went from four-man to five-man rotations. You'd rather have less annual production and more years. Peterson is the throwback, but Dickerson's record is going to be awfully difficult to challenge.

Yeah, ideal is probably the better word.

Thinking about it, I guess you could argue Tomlinson eclipsed Faulk. Brian Westbrook was pretty comparable, too.

    But that's it.

The game is still trending toward more specialization, not less. So rather than RBs who run and catch, you get RBs who run, like Peterson, Lynch, Alfred Morris, etc., and RBs who catch, like Sproles, Woodhead and Shane Vereen.

Feel like Curtis Martin and Franco Harris need to be somewhere on list
