It's amazing how much Detroit spends on NASCAR compared to how much they get out of it, which is virtually nothing. It's not a constructor series, so why pretend it is?

The implementation of the COT is a real problem in that regard.

I read somewhere (I'd link if I still had it) that the COT has emboldened the anti-NASCAR budget hawks at all of the auto companies who wonder what exactly they're getting out of the sport when the chassis are all basically the same.

But I already go to a few races at my local speedway.

And the underlying technology isn't even close to what's in the showroom. NASCAR is the last bastion of the carburetor.

Exactly. It didn't make a lot of sense before, and it make virtually none now.

My Dad has been harping on this for a while and he's right: Detroit would be wiser to invest the money in a series that actually has some relation to the cars they build.

well yeah because nascar is a redneck, republican sport.
either that or spinning27 has stock in honda and toyota.
or he could just be a douchebag.

Like what? Sports Car series? Touring Cars? Rally Cars?

I would think Touring Cars would be the best option, since while those are modified, they are far less than Rally Cars, and it would give the Big 3 the chance to try and sell their main brands.

Use the actual cars they say they do, Focus, Malibu, Camry, Charger instead of the COT with those labels on the front and back.

OK, I'll try. I'm just not as smart as you. No one is. so could you explain
what would be so hilarious about Toyota and Honda dominating NASCAR?
