This is an incredibly fascinating story.

A few years ago, a coach walked away from a microphone after a loss, muttering how he needed some Scotch. I was in radio at the time, and used it. A p.r. guy phoned me the next morning and asked if it could be pulled, "because it was supposed to be off-the-record."

It wasn't a hill worthy dying on, so I said ok. Next day, at another game, another reporter comes to me and says, "do you think coach so-and-so is a good quote?" "Yeah, pretty good," I said.

He says to me, "Well, he won't be if you keep doing that."

    I almost killed him.

I know that reporters who cover the Packers e-mailed a bunch of reporters who cover the Jets yesterday to see if they would get some Favre reax to the story after the Jets-Raiders game. From what I've heard not one of tough NY media brought it up in the postgame.

I'm sure he had a lot to say after giving Tom Cable his first win as coach.

Meanwhile, his successor in Green Bay was outplaying Peyton Manning.

Angling for a return to FOX as an "NFL Insider?" ::) ::)

Like who in the fucking wide world of sports is ever, EVER, going to take Matt Millen's thoughts on what it takes to put together a winning football team seriously again.

Favre looked really, really old in his post game presser yesterday.

Nothing a 12-pack and some percs wouldn't cure.

A day and a half later and still no mention of this on ESPN, a outlet that reports when Favre wipes his ass.

ESPN: "If we didn't break it or steal it, it didn't happen."

There is no doubt in my mind that this is true.

And Mizzou said it best, Glazer has kicked ESPN's ass when it comes to real reporting on the diva this year.

To whiff you at least have to go up to the plate. These guys stayed in the dugout.

I guess all of the real NFL reporters in NYC cover the Giants. ;D

Complete chickenshit on the part of the Jets hacks.
