Glasses? No, not glasses! They'll make you look positively goofy.

Carrie - I have a pair of kate spade frames and I l-o-v-e t-h-e-m!! They have lasted me almost 3 years. Of course, the wear and tear isn't that harsh on the glasses since I use contacts 90% of the time. But it was worth it to me to shell out almost $300 for a pair of kate spade.

    Find a brand/style you like.

Go to eBay and put something like "prada glasses" in the search window.

    Enjoy.

Didn't do it. Kicking my own ass.

Bought a pair of fabulous Nike sports frames for well over $300 Canadian. The lenses they wanted to put in them , they wanted to charge me $150. I said put in the no-frills ones.

Later browsing on Framesdirect.com, said frames were about $150. The same high-tech lenses would have set me back $60. Even with shipping and exchange rate, I was out at least $150.

Got a near-identical pair of adidas sunglasses my mother paid about $240 for here, for $60 U.S. on that same site. And they got to Canada in two days. $80 total.

The internet is a beautiful thing.

Before you "go cheap," remember that a pair of glasses is like an item of clothing you will wear EVERY SINGLE DAY. You can probably get Armani frames and the lenses you require for $300, maybe less with a good coupon. Think about that. The clothes you wear in a given week surely add up to more than that. Any good sportcoat is going to be in that ballpark, and you're going to wear it no more than once a week, probably less.
I used to go cheap with my glasses, until the every day thing dawned on me.

The glasses and the bowtie make a Slappy kinda look.
