Give em partisan hell, Harry...

The Lugar-Warner bill presented Friday demanding a new strategy by mid-October to restrict the mission of U.S. troops.suggests the plan be ready for implementation by next year.

    And it's got some teeth.

However, never fail to expect a Democrat to spew hypocrisy....in other words, they want an end to the war but only if it's their measure:

Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid balked at the proposal because it would not require Bush to implement the strategy. He said he prefers legislation the Senate will vote on next week that would order combat troops to be out of Iraq by next spring.

Of course, Harry. It's your party's bill which has no chance in hell of passing. This one at least has some Republicans ready to join - and you need that for enough punch to thwart a presidential veto.

But go ahead and pretend this is just like the immigration debate. Do nothing.

Wasn't this bill a non-binding kind thing. So basically it was as worthless as (new SportsJournalists.com contest finish this analogy)___________ .

Anyway, if I'm correct (going off what I heard on the radio) then that's why he'd like the other proposal better.

Oh, and this probably won't end well.

The GOP is trying to have its cake and eat it too — appearing to take action regarding the war without actually doing anything about it.

The secret to having you cake and eating it to is to be constantly baking cake. So if they pulled out of Iraq to invade Iran....

Politics at its smarmy, dripping worst.

  8. And you, sir, are a steely-eyed missile man.
If the GOP wants to go over the cliff with President Stupid, let them do it without killing any more people.
