The amazing thing is that some of these network idiots think that there's above a miniscule amount of viewers who watch games ONLY if they are on their network. Like a CBS guy who says: "Well, the Jets are at home today against the Packers, but it's on FOX. Hell with it, I ain't watching. Will 60 Minutes be on time?"

Then you want CBS. HDTV with no subchannels.

Ok, then explain the hundreds of calls every time a Steelers game isn't on CBS that KDKA gets. Hundreds.

    You ain't alone.
I think we need a separate thread to document the mistake Gumbel makes.
    Or try www.awfulannouncing.com
They keep a running tally, it's pretty funny.

Wouldn't the feed that NFL Network puts on be the top-quality feed? It would (presumably) have the least links in the chain for something to go wrong.

That should just show the intellect of your average Steelers fan.

Unless, inexplicably, they're saying I won't watch it since it's on FOX out of loyalty to CBS.

    Not necessarily.
On DirecTV, it's on the MPEG2 side, so it's not as good as it could be with the new MPEG4 birds.
Cable? It's probably compressed a little.
CBS, preferably, you have the best shot at close to full bandwith. NBC and CBS will be getting the entire network feed (integrated through LA with commercials, studio, etc) via fiber, so it's fully uncompressed. Once they get it, it's up to them, hence NBC's problems last few years with football. Their uplink system to their affiliates is outmoded for full HDTV resolution.
