What? You think Tiffany has little elves in their back room making every single piece of jewelry they sell? Please.

It's not the Gap, jr...Tiffany does in fact use real live jewelers to make custom jewelry. Apparently not in this case, though, which seems to be the point of the Post's story.

You are dumber than a sack of sterling silver keychains.

Well Tiffany is suing EBAY in claim that EBAy is selling Tiffany counterfeit merchandise.

    http://usefularts.us/2007/11/14/tiffany-vs-ebay-responsibility-and-competition-as-a-trademark-case/.

Kind of ironic in that they are sticking their name on a product made by someone else.

Well, look who came out from under the kitchen table.

I'm still waiting for my NAFTA explanation.

    You would be.

I'd sooner explain the theory of relativity to a zoo monkey.

There's nothing ironic about this at all.

You don't understand the difference between what Tiffany is doing and counterfeit merchandise?

If the craftsmen Tiffany has hired to make the jewelry meet all their standards of quality, then the contracted company is, for all intents and purposes, working as if they were Tiffany's employees.

Contracting out is common in business but the Giants are paying a premium for the Tiffany name. Tiffany is the middle man here and is putting a mark on the merchandise.

    jr jr the jewelry king
He knows the guy who made your ring

You thought he only knew fossil fuels
Turns out he's also an expert on jewels.

    The Giants wanted precious stones,
But now they're only getting clones.

    jr says it's all okay
Nothing to see, just go away

That won't help the Giants when their fingers turn green
Take care jr, and God save the queen.

Unless your cut and paste function is working, you can't argue your way out of a paper bag.

And every so often--like the NAFTA comment--you expose yourself as a shallow intellectual fraud.

And you never have the balls to own up or explain it.

Tiffany is using crafts people that presumably are up to their standards. IF they weren't, why why they jeopardize their reputation.

The assumption is that because an actual Tiffany employee isn't out in the back room making them, the rings somehow second rate. That's an invalid assumption
