Holy shit. These hit me like bricks from a truck.

How do you get rid of hiccups that don't seem to go away? I've had them now for 10 minutes, at least.

    Finally, they're gone.

Drink water from the opposite side of the glass.

Fill a tall glass of water and drink it all at once, but very slowly.

It's worked for me for years and years.

    I doubt it's a beast....

Slow your breathing down. Concentrate. Take a deep breath and slowly exhale.try to establish a rythym in your breathing....

I've always just held my breath and tried not to think about it. Though it's hard not to, given the ungodly noises that come out when I do actually hiccup.

Hold your breath for 10 seconds, and for the next 10 seconds, keep holding your breath and rub on the little bones on the back of your ears at the same time. Learned that one about 10 years ago, and it works probably 85 percent of the time.

Old bartender trick - Get a glass of water, cover it with a paper towel. Pull the towel tight and drink the water through it, slowly.

I saw a guy in a bar get rid of them by putting tobasco sauce on a lime on eating it. His face got real red for a little bit, but they went away.
