Getting out ... just to get out

    I've been receiving strong feelers from companies looking for advertising salesmen. I don't want to jump onto that route but I must admit, the sales pitches are tempting.

    Update: I put my two weeks notice in yesterday.

    Have a bunch regular freelance opportunities back home, along with a 9-to-5 out of the business that is likely in the works. If the latter somehow falls through, I have money saved up and enough part-time stuff to tide me over for a good while.

    Add it all up here -- low pay, bad hours, being a salaried employee, living in a dying town AND working for a CNHI paper -- and it was time to make a move, even without the fluffiest security blanket. It was time and I couldn't be happier with my decision.

    Good luck, although I still would have waited until I found out if that 9-5 job came through.
