Seems like Jack Kerouac was quite the obsessive fantasy baseball player -- or maybe imaginary baseball league, since he made it all up, charted the games, and wrote newsletters about it:

Rumor has it "On the Road" was originally entitled "In Mom's Basement."

I've read a couple of Kerouac biographies and this always hit a little too close to home for me as a person who kept track of an eight-team, 162-game league with the baseball board game that used metal pinballs and a spring loaded bat. Yes, there was an electric typewriter and fake newspaper involved, too.

Also did it with a dart baseball game one summer.

Albert Einstein needs to get a life, too.
