and this was the paper's response (from an AJC story):

"Georgia can't win every game, and we can't get every headline just right," said Journal-Constitution Editor Julia Wallace. "Fortunately, our avid readers, including the governor, help keep us straight."

    gutsy.

I sure hope she meant that to be sarcasm.

Nice job by Sonny... jump on a topic that doesn't mean shit, but will get him publicity during his reelection campaign...

Actually, I agree with the governor. It was a bad headline. It does make you think the paper believes the Bulldogs don't deserve to win big games.

OK, so it was a stupid headline... does he need to milk it for days?

Nothing wins the hearts of the people like bashing the local paper, especially if you can accuse it of being against the beloved home team.

Please tell me that's a fake response.
That's the problem with our industry...too few people have any stones. Georgia got its ass whipped, the newspaper wrote a headline that reflected that and a half-assed politician gripes about it. Why apologize for the headline? Why not write an editorial, telling the governor to do his fucking job? It's the same deal as the Tennessee shit...guy writes a story, the school gets its panties in a wad and the paper has to apologize.

I guess the AJC won't spend too much time pondering who it might endorse for the gubernatorial race.

From Perdue's letter: "The AJC, not UGA, is the real loser."

    Get a freakin' grip.

  10. On the other hand, Sonny Perdue has a future as a UT beat writer.

From: the Office of the Governor

    To: AJC

    It's spelled "Dawgs," not "Dogs."

    Sincerely,

    Sonny Perdue
