I was in grad school in Atlanta when the roof was being stretched on the frame, piece by piece back in 1991.

I'm no engineering expert, but even back then I wondered how long before something weird would happen to the roof.

    Georgia Dome's two words, Inky.

Keep the updates coming, y'all. We don't get any TV on this out here, and I can't find anything on the Web.

    Be safe, HP.

Tim Brando and the Raycom people are doing a hellacious job with this.

Negative, IJAG, it's only on Raycom's regional SEC broadcast.

    Hey hammer-

Did Brando just show your washer off on JP sports?

Sitting less than two miles away, I went on my enclosed front patio during the worst of it.
I didn't see or hear anything that resembled a tornado, but the rain and wind was so bad I couldn't see the house across the street.

Apparently the Hawks game right next door to the Georgia Dome was never stopped.

Which is fucking idiocy on the part of the conference, but that's for a whole 'nother time.

Just as a note, if you see Kentucky fans fleeing an active basketball game, you know bad shit is going down.

They replayed when it happened and you could see stuff falling from the roof, a loud sound and a standard swaying back and forth. People were looking up and looked pretty freightened.

I'm 100 miles from an SEC city...I guess that's too far for Raycom.

    Shame.

No kidding. Glad no one is injured.
    It is a Raycom/Jefferson Pilot/Lincoln Financial broadcast.
Good luck finding it, this might help though

    Hammer's right.

You could see a ripple on the roof panels as the wind blew past.

The catwalks were shaking hard, like almost earthquake hard, and swayed for quite a while. It takes something hellacious to get a catwalk to shake that hard and sway that long. I'm sure it'll lead off SportsCenter tonight.

BTW-Gottfried's wife has a nice rack.

They said the game should resume in 10-20 minutes, but damn, the hoops-only jumbroton they hang in the corner was swinging around. It did sound like a train.

Yes, that was our washer that Brando put on TV.
