Yes, please change "arrested" to "is an asshole".

She is obviously not the brightest bulb, so the second part of that is I suppose a possibility, but don't you figure she knew that when police got to the house they were going to have to find her father bruised and the iPad smashed? She also said there was a witness from across the street.

She might be dumb enough to put herself in a situation where her claims would be so easy to disprove. But that's not where my money is going.

CNN is now reporting that the couple had not been to a national park.

SportsJournalists.com could then be on the verge of a four-fold cross rip.

    1) Piecing things together, it sounds like him and her dad got into a fight. She called 911. Did she gild the lily?

    a) On the call, she said when the police got there that they told his bodyguards to stand aside. The bodyguards with him make it less likely he was alone with a gun and pointing it and making it threats.
    b) Her dad was still outside while she was on the phone -- she told him to get inside. That wouldn't be someone who was afraid of a guy waving a gun.
    c) The dad said he didn't need an ambulance, but she insisted he did.

She may be conniving. She might not be.

But based on a little info, we don't have a clue what was going on there. I'll bet that there is a divorce going on and her dad and Zimmerman got into it and she called 911, and it wasn't quite as dramatic as many people are assuming.

All of that said, this guy is an idiot. He courts trouble.

Shelly Zimmerman tried to outsmart somebody when she perjured herself.
She's the last person to realize she's dumb, as is the case with many dumb people.

Why are we letting CNN dictate the narrative?

He should be locked up for defacing an iPad.

Doesn't look like he was even armed:

Ms. Zimmerman, who filed for divorce four days ago, told a dispatcher that Mr. Zimmerman had his hand on his gun as he argued with her father, David Dean, at Mr. Dean’s home.

“And he keeps saying, ‘Step closer,’ ” Ms. Zimmerman said.

“Step closer and what?” asked the dispatcher.

“And he’s going to shoot us,” Ms. Zimmerman responded.

But Ms. Zimmerman later changed her account.

No one ever saw a gun,” said Officer Zach Hudson of the Lake Mary police. “He said he has no gun on him and we haven’t found a gun. I think she assumed that he had one on his person.”

The question of the gun became confused later when police told reporters there was no gun involved, but George Zimmerman's attorney told CNN's Anderson Cooper 360 that he believed his client had a firearm on him.

"He acted appropriately. He never took the weapon out," said Mark O'Mara, who is also a CNN legal analyst. O'Mara said he never saw the gun.
