Generator dudes are the next Budweiser commercial layering onto the 51 inches of stainless testosterone grill 'Real Men of Genius' stupidity. If you are so clueless that you cannot survive for twelve hours sans electric, then you will probably be electrocuted while reading your Home Depot generator installation instructions (hint, turn the page over and read the english part). I hope you survive your storm (don't think about running some awful hurricane tornado story- been there) but I am betting on Darwin instead.

Hey snuffy - parts of Baton Rouge are still without power following Gustav, which hit Monday. Some places will still be without power for another two weeks. So spare me the "clueless without electricity for 12 hours" schtick.

  3. yes, since these monster storms only shut off the lights for 12 hours. ::) get a clue.

didn't take you many posts to show your ass

  5. How about 3 1/2 days with no power, 85% humidity and a 6-month-old daughter in the house.

That manly enough for a pissant like you Snuffy?

Even if you live well away from the coast, it might be a good idea to invest in a generator.

We can get some really apocalyptic ice storms in the mid-south. All that weight of the ice pulls down power lines and trees, and a widespread one can knock you out for a month in a remote area. Oklahoma got it really bad winter before last.

Just be sure that you start the generator on a regular basis to keep it in good repair. Hubby didn't start ours for a while and now there is something frozen up on it. Hubby is very mechanically inclined and has not been able to fix it. And now, with Ike possibly coming near us, we are trying to get service on it before the weekend, but it looks like it won't be repaired in time.
