Gene Harbrecht, OCR, RIP

    Gene Harbrecht, 67, was killed in a car crash Thursday morning. He was the News Editor of the Orange County Register and worked for the paper for 36 years.
    He was one of the news side guys we could rely on to get it right when a sports story made its way to news.

    Sad, really sad. I talked with him a lot. He ran the NCAA basketball brackets and the football bowl contests. Everybody liked him.
