Geffen trying to buy the NYT?

    And turning it into a non-profit org? Isn't that the same idea The Wire guy gave in front of Congress last week?

    With this possible move, and Murdoch announcing News Corp is going to a pay model online, is this potentially a new direction for the media industry?

    It appears the ideas that have been floating around for a while are going to get a shot a seeing if they are manageable.
