Gay Belmont coach out of job after revealing sexual orientation to team

    There are quite a few references in the Old Testament condemning homosexuality, and Paul addresses that and other forms of so-called licentious behavior many times in the Epistles.

    But in the Gospels themselves, I don't believe Jesus ever directly condemned homosexuality. What he DID say was that he who is without sin should cast the first stone.

    Also, in the whole spectrum of sins, how did homosexuality become one of the big ones?

    It's the one where shifting cultural attitudes are at the tipping point. We are in the middle of the generation where it went from socially unacceptable to acceptable, so that's why it's the most frequent subject of debate.
